This Policy is designed to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (collectively, “CCPA”), the California Invasion of Privacy Act (“CIPA”), the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (“TCPA”), and other applicable U.S. privacy laws.

1. Summary of Key Points
- We are Simply Solar California, Inc., based in California.
- We collect information you provide (name, email, address, phone, electric-bill amount, project details), information collected automatically (IP address, device, browsing activity), and information from third parties (referral partners, advertising networks, data brokers).
- We use cookies, pixels, tags, and similar tracking technologies, including Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads, Meta (Facebook) Pixel, Nextdoor Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, and embedded third-party tools such as Solaros, ReferralRock, and live-chat or scheduling widgets. Some of these activities qualify as “sharing” or “selling” of personal information under California law.
- We allow California residents to opt out of the sale or sharing of their personal information, to limit the use of sensitive personal information, to request access, correction, and deletion, and to designate an authorized agent. We honor browser-based Global Privacy Control (“GPC”) signals.
- We obtain prior consent for non-essential tracking technologies through our cookie consent banner. You can change your choices at any time via the “Cookie Preferences” link in our website footer.
- If you call us or interact with us by SMS or chat, your communications may be recorded, monitored, or transcribed for quality, training, compliance, and service purposes. You will be notified of recording before the call begins and may choose not to continue.
We collect information you choose to share with us, including:
- Identifiers: full name, postal address, email address, phone number, and similar identifiers.
- Customer records: information you submit through online forms, including average monthly electric bill amount, property information, financing preferences, the name of a referring customer, and any free-text messages you send us.
- Commercial information: products and services you purchase, install, or inquire about, transaction history, and warranty registrations.
- Audio, electronic, and visual information: recordings of customer-service calls, SMS conversations, live-chat transcripts, and photos or videos of your property submitted for inspection or design purposes.
- Employment-related information (if you apply for a job through our Site): résumé, employment history, education, and contact information.
When you interact with the Site, we and our third-party providers automatically collect:
- Device and connection information: IP address, device identifiers, browser type and version, operating system, language, time zone, and referring URL.
- Usage information: pages viewed, time spent, clicks, scrolls, mouse movements, form interactions, and similar engagement signals.
- Cookies and similar technologies: persistent and session cookies, pixel tags, web beacons, software development kits, and local storage objects (see Section 5 below).
- Approximate location: derived from IP address or, with permission, from device geolocation.
- Advertising and analytics partners (e.g., Google, Meta, Nextdoor, LinkedIn) provide aggregated and individualized engagement metrics.
- Lead aggregators and referral partners share contact information about consumers who request a quote through their platforms.
- Solar-financing partners, utilities, and credit-reporting agencies share project and eligibility information when relevant to a transaction.
- Publicly available sources, including property records and government databases.
We use information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Site and our Services, including responding to quote requests, scheduling appointments, designing and installing solar and storage systems, and providing customer support.
- Communicate with you, including by phone, SMS, email, mail, and direct messaging, about your project, your account, our products and services, promotional offers, surveys, and policy updates.
- Conduct marketing and advertising, including building and refining audiences, retargeting, and measuring campaign performance.
- Personalize your experience on the Site and tailor content.
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and violations of our Terms of Use.
- Comply with legal, regulatory, contractual, and self-regulatory obligations, and to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
- Train and improve our internal models, dispatch logic, scheduling tools, and customer-experience programs.
We disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients:
- Service providers and processors that perform services on our behalf, including website hosting, customer-relationship management, marketing automation, call tracking and recording, SMS gateways, live chat, e-signature, payment processing, and analytics.
- Advertising and analytics partners, including Google, Meta (Facebook), Nextdoor, LinkedIn, and other digital platforms that may use the information for cross-context behavioral advertising, attribution, and audience-building.
- Solar-financing partners, utilities, and trade partners involved in your project.
- Referral partners, including the ReferralRock platform, where applicable.
- Professional advisors, including attorneys, accountants, auditors, and insurers.
- Government authorities, regulators, courts, and law-enforcement agencies, when required by law or in response to lawful requests.
- Successors in connection with a sale, merger, financing, or other corporate transaction involving Simply Solar.
Some of these disclosures may constitute a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under California law because they involve cross-context behavioral advertising or other valuable consideration. You may opt out at any time as described in Section 7.
