The Night Before Solar is our reimagining of the classic Christmas poem A Visit from St. Nicholas by Clement Clarke Moore. We wanted to bring some fun and good cheer to your holiday, so in addition to rewriting this poem, we also performed a dramatic reading of the piece, which you can and should view as soon as possible. We recommend gathering your family close and watching it together, perhaps under a large festive blanket, with mugs of hot cocoa in hand.
What follows is the transcript of our dramatic reading - enjoy!
Oh hello, I didn’t see you there! Please, come in, come in! Join me here by the hearth. Ah, it’s nice and warm, isn’t it? I’m Greg Pisacane, and you’ve caught me doing some light reading about the benefits of a solar installation. Seems like a jolly good idea if you ask me!
[Santa-adjacent laugh]

Now, if you’re settled in and ready for a story, I’d be happy to read you something from this here book! Let’s see, ah, here’s an old classic that’s sure to put a smile on your face. It’s called:
[dramatically clear throat]
‘Twas the night before Solar, and all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The space ‘round the install was tidy and clear,
Perfectly prepared for when Simply Solar got here.
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of solar savings danced in their heads.
With my partner in PJs and I in my slippers,
We settled in to watch a show about property flippers.
When out on the lawn there arose such a sound,
I sprang up from the couch with a leap and a bound!
Away to my front door I flew like a flash,
Thinking, perhaps, that it was my doordash.
The moon glinting off of my frost-covered lawn,
Gave the impression of witnessing the oncoming dawn.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a Simply Solar install crew, so suddenly here!
With a professional foreman, so lively and quick,
I knew at that moment they’d do just the trick!
More rapid than eagles these installers came,
And the foreman cried out to each technician by name;
“Now, Keven! Now, Carlos! Now, Craig and Jose!
With our skills together this should take just one day!
To the top of the home, to the top of the wall!
Now dash away, dash away, dash away all!”
So up to the house-top the technicians they flew,
With panels and rack mounts and inverters too.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard up above,
The installers at work, their service - white glove!
As I greeted the foreman, he walked me around,
And thanked me for clearing a space on the ground,
Where I’d had storage boxes stacked in the way,
Of a panel that they’d need to access today.
Together we reviewed the days installation,
Ensuring that all equipment was in its proper location.
With the power now off to protect the install team,
I sat down in my living room and began to dream,
Of the savings we’d soon see by making the switch -
A process as simple as described in the pitch.
I was glad that we’d chosen not to go with a lease,
By owning the system, our property value would increase!
With the recent improvement of the federal tax credit,
And financing options to fit every budget,
We’ll save on our taxes before even one payment
Is due on our 18 month no interest arrangement!

There really has never been a better time to go solar.
And as this little tale of mine is nearly over,
Remember that you can meet with a consultant today,
To get your very own solar project underway!

With our install completed the team packed their gear;
I thanked them again for the work they’d done here.
With another successful installation under their belt,
They took to the road as the frost started to melt.
But I heard the team exclaim, as they drove out of sight,
“Happy Solar to all, and to all a good-night!”
