Simply Solar is a Solar Energy Company that is proud to support Bay Area Veterans. This Veterans Day we have teamed up with Non-Profit, Swords to Plowshares. The organization is dedicated to supporting Bay Area veterans every step of the way. Every year, they support nearly 3,000 homeless, low-income, at-risk veterans in the Bay Area. Job training, supportive housing programs, and legal services are just to name a few of the services they offer! Check out their infographic below to see the impact of their services!
To rebuild our economy, and our country, it is important to stay focused on a more energy efficient, sustainable future ahead. While we keep this focus, we will never lose sight of those individuals who fought so we can have that future. Our dedication to Swords To Plowshares, and all veterans, will begin with a donation towards this year's Veterans Day Dinner and will raise funds for emergency response to COVID-19 and help cover the enormous costs they have incurred to keep our veterans and staff safe. #vdd2020
so they can produce backpacks full of items homeless veterans need on the streets and distribute them over the coming months. Contributions will also provide a holiday meal about a week before Christmas. Beyond this donation, we will be initiating a veteran hiring initiative at Simply Solar. With proper support and training, Vet’s will have what they need to begin a career in renewable energy.
Renewable Careers Will Shape Our Future
According to SEIA, “The Solar Foundation’s 2018 National Solar Jobs Census found the solar industry employed 19,019 veterans
throughout the United States, or 7.8% of all solar workers in the nation. This is more than the 6.6% veteran employment percentage of overall workers in the economy. Many of these jobs are in the areas of installation, production, manufacturing, sales
or management throughout a number of solar companies. While this number is above the national percentage for industry, there is significant room for growth.”
