Jake Hassid is the Director of Operations at Simply Solar and oversees day-to-day operations, managing the production of residential and commercial solar projects. He spearheaded the creation of an ultra-efficient, customer-first, installation process which ensures that each and every installation is completed to the same exacting standards. He directs sales strategy and has advised multiple local solar distributors, vendors, and installers on best practices for sales and installation process design. As the operations head, he manages all internal and external operations crews, addressing and resolving issues with great efficacy. Jake is responsible for acquiring and negotiating terms with new vendors and manages all product decisions through a thorough understanding of industry trends and system best practices.
Jake is a graduate of UC Davis, with a degree in Neurobiology, and has extensive experience in the construction and solar industries. At Simply Solar and at prior companies, he is consistently a top consultant and educator and has spoken for numerous industry and business groups. This includes advising to promote the broader adoption of solar through a more thorough understanding of the permitting and regulatory process.
Sean Green is Simply Solar’s CTO, where he is responsible for the execution and creation of core technology infrastructure. Through the implementation and development of custom, leading-edge software, he has helped Simply Solar become one of the most efficient, customer-focused, solar companies in Northern California. These technologies include custom quoting software, sales and marketing infrastructure, and a robust analytics platform to help improve decision making throughout the organization. He leads the marketing team and directs the strategy and brand direction. He also oversees Simply Solar’s finances and is responsible for increasing capital and growth through effective risk management and partnerships with appropriate banks and investors.
Prior to Simply Solar, Sean worked for multiple Silicon Valley startups, leading marketing and analytics efforts to assist in decision making affecting millions of users. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Robotics from Cal Poly and has been featured in articles regarding solar power from Microsoft and Santa Rosa Chamber’s YPN.
Sam Prom is Simply Solar’s Responsible Managing Officer and ensures that all installations are performed to industry best-practices. With over a decade of experience installing and overseeing hundreds of commercial and residential projects, he ensures that the quality of Simply Solar’s installations is unparalleled. He is responsible for vetting product-lines and installation practices, which puts Simply Solar at the cutting-edge for installation quality. Through proprietary R&D, led by Sam, Simply Solar is able to outperform many companies with leak-proof, aesthetically pleasing systems which can be installed in any number of custom configurations. With his wealth of industry knowledge, Sam is responsible for maintaining many of Sonoma County’s largest installations and frequently consults for other vendors throughout the industry.
Ben Goldberg is the Sales Development Director at Simply Solar, where he facilitates the acquisition of new business partnerships and assists in sales support and strategy execution. He is an extremely active member in the local community, and holds key relationships with many local business owners, helping to promote Simply Solar and its mission as a clean energy provider and community organization. Through public outreach, event organization, and planning, he leads the development of new sales channels and partnerships, influencing policy on brand and sales direction.
Ben is a board member for the Marin Builders Association and was named “Ambassador of the Year” for the Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce. As a Sonoma native, he has strong ties to his community, is active in several charitable organizations and regularly volunteers his time to support local causes. He has been a champion of solar energy for many years, and through his efforts, helped Simply Solar grow as a company that puts people and the environment first.
Jerry Shafer has a strong engineering and technical background he is industry professional with knowledge of a wide range of electrical technologies including enhanced knowledge of renewable energy/solar electrical applications. Jerry’s prior work experience includes two startups, his background and training qualifications include CSLB B and C-46 license, NABCEP PV Inspector and installer certifications. Throughout Jerry’s technical career he has had the opportunity to successfully troubleshoot a variety of situations, implement safety procedures, ensured quality and performance of installations, and stay up to date with progressive technology and its associated software. These skills along with having the ability to work within a team of professionals gives him great satisfaction. Jerry was born and raised in Sonoma where his parents still live, Jerry and his wife Heather have been living in Windsor for the last 25 years, he has two adult children, both are very independent both who still live in Sonoma county. In Jerrys personal time he enjoys restoring antique cars back to original condition, weekend trips to the lake where his daughter takes control of the boat so he can ski and wakeboard, Jerry has been in the solar industry starting back in 1978 where off grid was the only option and learned the construction trade and his true calling for the renewable industry all from his father while working and building these off grid homes.
Cliff Johnson is Simply Solar's CFO, where he oversees the health of the organization and its employees through daily financial, administrative, and human resource management. He is extremely devoted to supporting Simply Solar's mission to build a brighter future through educating and empowering people while leveraging business success to improve the lives of employees and our communities. He works as part of the executive team to develop and execute the strategic vision of the founders and is responsible for policy, projection, and systems development. He considers himself a "multiplier" seeking to 10x the capability of the people around him by pushing for the best thinking, extending challenges, creating healthy debate, and instilling ownership and accountability.
Cliff is a graduate of BYU-Idaho with degrees in Accounting and Quantitative Reasoning. He has an entrepreneurial nature so following 8 years in public accounting, he jumped into the private sector helping businesses in various industries achieve their strategic vision. As a long-time resident of West Sonoma County Cliff and his family are deeply committed to the community actively serving in various capacities. He came to Simply Solar in 2020 after 6 years with a large commercial contractor and looks forward to a future made brighter through alternative energy technologies.
As Simply Solar’s Chief Revenue Officer, Egil Rosten is in charge of driving sustainable, profitable growth while protecting the company’s excellent reputation. He brings to the team a track record of helping small solar companies grow rapidly in both volume and prominence. Mosaic became the largest solar lender in the nation in 2017, Freedom Forever was the 3rd largest residential solar installer in 2021, and Kuubix Energy doubled its revenue year-over-year.
Egil has a BBA from Sør-Trøndelag University College in Norway, and an MBA from Pacific Lutheran University. In addition to success in sales and marketing roles, he also spent many years in operations roles with full P&L responsibility. This culminated with an appointment as National Best Demonstrated Practices Champion in 2011 for CORT, a Berkshire Hathaway Company. He joined the solar industry as a sales rep in 2012 to make the biggest possible impact addressing the climate crisis.
